Nunca escuchas a nadie
cuando te dicen que vayas a la derecha
sigues a la izquierda
tal vez eso es algo bueno
porque la gente te ha mentido antes
y tratará de hacerlo otra vez
esperando que les creyeres
y la gente que te dice la verdad
no siempre tiene las mejores intenciones
así que tienes que tener cuidado
pero ya sabes todo esto
quizás es la razón por la que no escuchas
debes saber la diferencia
entre alguien que quiere que falles
y alguien que se preocupa por ti
incluso si no hablas mucho con ellos
estás por tu cuenta

no puedes perder el foco

porque una persona sin foco
es una persona llena de excusas
no tienes tiempo para excusas
estás muy agradecida por el apoyo
pero con tantos obstacúlos en tu camino
no hay espacio para el fracaso

Where There's Smoke

You have fire in your soul
and it's there for one reason 
because you're destined for greatness
you've known that from day one
that's why they've been trying to stop you
ever since you started dreaming
they even take credit for your nightmares 
but the jealous rants of a bitter person
displaying disingenuous encouragement 
as a means of masking their own shame
could never do anything to stop you 
although they can get under your skin
they'll never be able to extinguish the fire 
it's spreading so quickly 
that not even you can contain it 
and why would you want to 
it's what drives you to be successful 
rather than drowning in past failures
but you know they'll keep trying
reminding you of those past failures 
every chance they get 
just continue your path to greatness 
and if they keep playing with fire 
they'll burn in your light

Take It From Me

I've been in the position you're in
always being told there's something wrong with you
but never being told what that something is
next thing you're being diagnosed with a disorder
in order to justify why you behave the way you do
then you're given misinformation after the diagnosis
as well as every medication that exists for psychosis
only to find out that the reason you're misunderstood
is because no one took the time to understand you 
that's why you remained in the shadows for so long
you were made to believe it's where you belong
and instead of making you stronger
the shadows made you out to be a coward
hiding from a world in desperate need of your light
now you've been up every night crying
with only insomnia to wipe away your tears
but no one around to erase those fears
that maybe something is wrong with you
something that medication can't fix
it's a hard pill to shallow
which is why you've followed blindly this whole time
and while the world may be in need of your light
you're in need of it even more 
because it's the cure they never told you about

No es necesario entender todo 
debes tratar de entender al menos un poco
porque una persona que entiende un poco 
tiene la capacidad de entender más 
si nos gusta o no
queremos una persona así
una persona que quiere aprender 
y no tiene miedo de lo que se descubre
porque quiere entender más que un poco
si encontramos esa persona 
o ya tenemos una persona así
es importante aprender respetarles
al menos un poco
porque la comprensión no existe sin respeto
así que debemos respetarnos unos a otros 
no es necesario entender todo 
pero si queremos que alguien nos entienda 
necesitamos entender la relación 
hay dos personas que no entienden todo 
pero quieren aprender más juntos

There You Are (We See You)

Do you know how long we've waited
how long we've watched you
we were going to expose you ourselves 
but you chose to expose yourself 
you knew it was inevitable 
how long have you been playing both sides
and lying to yourself 
do you even know 
of course we've always known 
even when you denied it
we knew the truth 
hiding behind your faith 
making hate driven remarks 
using so-called facts
from one-sided sources 
all while smiling in the faces 
of those who see you as a friend
but you're not their friend 
friends try to bring people together
by building bridges  
not by sabotaging the blueprints  
so we see your deception 
it appears the saying is true after all 
looks really can be deceiving

Keep Going

Maybe they were right about you 
have you really had enough 
you've made it pretty far already 
but you look exhausted
no one would blame you for quitting 
some are actually counting on it
calling you every name they can think of
so you could quit
or you could keep going
and shut the mouths of every critic
that's ever doubted you
of course you're exhausted
but feeling pain means you're still alive 

so never mind how you feel physically
think of what could damage you mentally
displaying a lack of effort
negative thoughts perhaps

or simply admitting defeat

you can't let any of those things happen 
go crazy if you have to 

people think you're crazy anyway
so you might as well show them 
that you're crazy enough to keep going
and they're crazy for doubting you

Not So Different

Some of us know only what we see

and don't take the time to feel

or get to know each other

not like we used to 

so when we look at you

and see a beautiful woman

we think that should be enough

but while you may be easy on the eyes

you're too hard on your heart 

how do I know this 

call it a feeling

one that's all too familiar 

you believe your heart led you astray

so you feel betrayed

ashamed even

blaming your heart for everything 

I see a lot of myself in you

we're reflections of one another

just different in the way we see ourselves

but there's no difference really

and if we all took the time to feel

or get to know each other again

we would see that

then maybe we could trust our own eyes
