L.O.V.E. Notes: See For Yourself

I shouldn't let negative energy enter me
not just because it messes with me mentally 
but because it's just not meant for me
I know that I deserve better 
so when Life seems as ugly as a Christmas sweater
I proudly wear it 
because I know that my life has merit
and I'm strong enough to bare it
even though it barely seems that way
rarely does negativity have it's way
so it won't today
at least not if I can help it
because nothing's worse than feeling helpless
other than being helpless
and seeing that feeling of helplessness in yourself

No puedes matarme
ya estoy muriendo
en la oscuridad me descubrí

One Thing Left To Do

Fight
seems so simple doesn't it
yet many of us fail to do so
or decide we just don't want to anymore

there are always other options
but there's really only one choice
fight
that's what I now have to do 
and that's what I'm going to do
I'll fight anyone 

and everyone

I'll even fight myself if I get in the way

whatever it takes 
by any means necessary
some might say I'm being negative
or a little too presumptuous 
but do you know what happens to you
when you don't fight
I do
so my advice to you 
fight
if you don't believe it's better to die trying
try dying without fighting
because now 
I rather die fighting
and that's what I'm going to do
fight
just so I can die living

No Turning Back

Remember what you told yourself last year
you said this would be the year of no fear
because over the past couple of years
you couldn't handle being judged by your peers 
I mean it's not like they're completely clean
they're probably covered in dirt
while desperately trying to cover the hurt
from the pain that they feel
and that's real
it's no wonder why they haven't healed
but if you ask them about any of this
their lips are sealed
so whether you like it or not
you'll always be put on the spot 
there's no need to run away 
let them say whatever they want to say 
you've never hid behind your past 
sure there were times when you finished last 
but would you really call that your worst
all because you didn't finish first
so before you ask yourself what went wrong
what matters most is that you finish strong
and don't react to every thing you hear
because you said this would be the year of no fear

Hold The Crown Too

Born to be a queen 
she doesn't need anyone to hold her down
as it's not hard for her to hold the crown 
people think she's mean
but she's seen many lay claim to the throne
when they can't even reign on their own
but she's not complaining 
more like explaining 
it's hard enough doing what she does
so who has time to cry over what never was
those so called kings
always talking about doing big things 
get their opportunity
then they waste it
let's face it
she's wasted so much of her time
listening to promises 
from someone who doesn't know what a promise is
people think she's mean
and I know that every king needs a queen
so somehow I'll get her to see
that next to her is where I want to be
because unlike me
it's not hard for her to hold the crown
