don't answer that
just remember one thing

so it's better to be true to yourself
because who you are
isn't always what they want to see

Do you care to know what happened 
or do you want blame it on drugs
maybe she just fell
you say that she was happy 
but you never spoke to her
maybe you just ignored the signs
you didn't hear her cries 
but you laughed at her pain
you saw her smiles
but not her scars
and she still had wounds
maybe she just fell
or maybe she felt neglected 
bullied 
unloved
invisible 
numb
perhaps she never felt alive
and that she needed to die
in order to live
maybe she just fell
she needed a hand
but instead you gave her an excuse
an excuse for what happened next

I'm not saying that you're weak
but I know how hard it can be to speak
if you feel that nobody cares
why should you be the one who shares
so keeping secrets is a must
especially when you don't know who to trust
and you always find yourself complaining
when really you wish it would just stop raining
because before it started pouring 
like a bird you were soaring 
you were too busy spreading your wings
to worry about the little things 
until you ran into a wall 
in the form of those praying for your downfall
now you're so afraid of the pain
that you won't even go outside in the rain
but it isn't fear that I see
because I know how much you want to be free
remember you were once before
and you will be once more
I see someone who's been shown so many lies
that they can't even believe their own eyes
so if somehow you should ever go blind
strength will be the first thing you'll need to find

I'm not saying that I'm weak 
but the answers you seek 
I wouldn't know where to start
sure I could speak from my heart
and tell you my story 
about how I don't do it for the glory
but all you'll see are my tears 
so naturally you'll think it's my fears
or maybe my pride 
perhaps the pain I'll try to hide
honestly I really don't care
because you weren't there
still you're not the reason why I hurt
and if I've ever felt like dirt
it's my fault for feeling that way
not anything that you had to say
you don't even pick up a phone
and even though I don't want to be alone
I must prepare to be
more than that I must dare to be
because I see being on my own
as a way to show just how much I've grown
things do have the ability to go wrong
so I must believe in my ability to stay strong
