On My Way To Work

I never thought it would be this way
people keep telling me to be this way 
asking me why do I care
the pain of others isn't mine to bare 
they already know that this life isn't fair
but still they're willing to share
and I'll do anything to help with their journey
so I can't let negativity concern me
I'm still learning to live
but I will say it's getting easier to give
because here most of the people just take
whether you're sleep or awake
people don't want you to be successful 
which makes chasing your dreams so stressful
and achieving them so special
believe me I understand
when things don't always go as planned
there's nothing wrong with a helping hand
it's better than the hands of destruction 
who's plan is to cause disruption 
making it hard to survive in this world of corruption
but that's all right 
so while those people lecture me on what's right
I'll be right here continuing to fight
