Get Ready

I know what it's like
not to be taken seriously
I showed people the serious me
then they would ask me 
why so serious
it made me so furious
now you're being taken for granted
and you can't stand it
it's like there's no way out 
so you feel stranded 
because nobody cared to ask you
what's the matter
when the fact of the matter is
it doesn't matter what they think
because if this is sink or swim
listening to them 
could cause you to drown
especially if you decide to wear a frown
instead of that smile that kept you afloat 
without ever needing a boat
I know what it's like
really I do 
but it starts with you
