L.O.V.E. Notes: People Person

People tell you lots of things 
they tell you not to be guarded 
even though you're royalty 
then your kingdom crumbles 
but if it wasn't for a lack of loyalty 
and a lack of trust 
the empire you were trying to build
wouldn't have turned into dust
now those people tell you to rebuild 
but criticize you for putting up walls 
do you know what's the worst 
listening to other people 
rather than yourself first
it's easy to point out the problem
but rarely do you hear a solution
that's why there's so much confusion
which people have your back
or which people put up a front
and whose words you take to heart
if you only knew your worth 
then you would know where to start 
should things ever fall apart
