What They Do

They ignore you 
expecting you to always be there 
that is until you dissappear 
and decide to move on 
then they come looking for you 
hoping that you return 
but you don't 
instead you refuse 
not because you don't love them 
but because for the first time 
you love yourself more 
if they only knew how long that took 
mistake after mistake
all of the tears 
wrestling with your own thoughts 
just to be able to smile 
without it hurting so much 
they probably don't even care 
and if they do care 
they won't show it
because they're also hurting 
so they ignore you 
but they don't ever forget you 
especially now that you're gone
