There are moments 
when in an instant 
I can close my eyes 
and when I open them 
we're standing face to face 
it's an anxious feeling 
but a calming feeling 
one of security 
appreciation 
respect 
and love 
I've never felt that before 
the absence of negativity 
of negative energy 
your love for humanity 
for all living creatures 
such warmth 
my tears honor you
continuously 
endlessly 
lovingly 
I love you 
all of you 
from the waves you create 
to the ripple effects you cause
if only my eyes worked 
the way I want them to work
I would see you when they open 
just as I do when they close
