it always has been
some choose to remain silent
others renounce that right
but it's impossible to remain silent
unless you cut out your tongue
and if that happens
your actions would have to be convincing
because your words would be missing in action
there would be no singing
there would be no shouting
you would have to find a way to make noise
but you do have a voice
a voice that no one wants you to use
and there's so much to say
so much injustice
it's impossible to remain silent
unless people cut out their tongues
if that happens
your voice would need to be louder
in case their actions don't speak as loud
and they need to speak loudly
because this is the world they live in
a world that wants you to remain silent
