She knows
of course she knows 
you only do it every night 
but she doesn't mind
she doesn't mind it at all
in fact she loves it
you're lost in her beauty
enamored by her essence
who wouldn't love that
she can feel your eyes on her
the energy from your smile
what an intoxicating feeling
she's waited so long for this
and so have you 
that's why you stare at her
but she doesn't mind 
she's doesn't mind it at all 
because she knows 
you both know 
what an intoxicating feeling 
she will protect her king
much like the game of Chess 
but you must watch over her
and she knows that

One thing's for sure 
with everything you were willing to endure
it's no wonder you made it this far
now there's no questioning who you are
you didn't forget that you could swim
so you're definitely not like them 
all those times you went under
sure it made people wonder
but when you finally came up for air 
that's when everyone became aware
you weren't going to give up without a fight
and you still believed in shining bright
it's no wonder you made it this far
now there's no questioning who you are
remember it was that second guessing 
that led to all that stressing 
you couldn't avoid a relapse if you tried
especially after your brother died 
but somehow 
you're here right now
it took everything for you to stay afloat 
even reciting every word you ever wrote
it's no wonder you made it this far

L.O.V.E. Notes: Defying Gravity

I'm not yet who I'm supposed to be
and I have myself to blame or that
why would I blame anyone else
I caused myself to be disappointed
by having high expectations
when I knew better
and that's what brought me down
but not all the way down
not even close
because I'm looking to defy gravity
so no matter how much I hurt
I'll never touch the ground again
people will think I'm falling
when actually I'm really floating

nobody will be able to explain it 

but nobody will be able to deny it ether

those who wrote me off 

will watch me write an amazing story

about making the impossible possible

overcoming obstacle after obstacle

until finally I reach my pinnacle 

not only can it happen 

but it will happen exactly that way

I will defy gravity

day after day I've suffered 
now I've become numb
it doesn't hurt anymore

shaming myself
it must have been harder for you
my wounds were self-inflected

so I couldn't expect to be saved
