There's a story behind your eyes
very time you blink
it's like a new word is being written
the end of each chapter
is like the beginning of a new one
if you cannot open your eyes
don't be sad
the story doesn't end there
only the scenery changes
and when that happens
you won't need your eyes anymore

I just want to touch the sky
that may seem silly to you
but it doesn't seem silly to me
wouldn't that be something to see
to stand on top of the world
knowing it's not the highest you can go
or how about standing on top of the world
knowing that there's room for you to grow
I just want to touch the sky
to prove to everyone that it's possible
and only those with a limited vision
will envision themselves as an obstacle
it's like we don't dream anymore
and when there's so much to explore
we're at a standstill
but I refuse to stand still
I just want to touch the sky
to prove that it doesn't take much to fly
not when you can see yourself in the clouds
that may seem silly to you
but it doesn't seem silly to me
wouldn't that be something to see
just to touch the sky
just once before we die

You had a light that would never dim
that was until the day you met him
you haven't been the same since
and since you can't even say his name
maybe he's to blame
but so are you
not because of what you did do
but because of what you didn't do
instead of following your intuition
you were more into wishing
or more into fishing
that would explain why you took the bait
you were a good catch
but an easy one
so he had his fun at your expense
and you haven't been the same since
this guy may be able to con Edison
but he doesn't have dominion over you
which means you've never lost power
it's your light
your energy
and it continues to flow
so step back into your light
and step out of his shadow

What do you do
when all you're left with is a dream
do you keep it to yourself
or do you share it with a world
that may not deserve it
a world that may not appreciate
or even know what it needs
still
the dream deserves a chance
you deserve a chance
to chase your dream
and catch your dream
then it will reveal its true form
because that's its purpose
if all you have left is a dream
that's more of a reason to be

How do you see yourself
because that's what matters most
your perception of yourself
people can tell you that you're beautiful
and they may be telling you the truth
but what are they looking at
do you even know
and do you know their intentions
or are you just seeking attention
from those with their own agenda
maybe you don't like what you see
so you care less about yourself
and more about what people see in you
but what do you see in yourself
because that's what matters most
you're what matters most
so you can change what you don't like
but you have to be awake first
what that being said

this is your wake up call
and only you can answer it

I'm not even sure what to call her
Miss Universe is taken
and there will never be another
but she's something else
something more
there's just so much beauty
not a single imperfection
at least not one that can be seen
it's like looking up at the night sky
and staring into forever
she's an absolute dream
one that I believe in
which makes me wonder
is she even attainable
or is she simply motivation
to keep reaching for the stars
and beyond the realm of possibility
because there's more out here
than we can possibly imagine
I wish I knew the answer
maybe it could help me out
God knows I need it
I'm not even sure what to call her
or if I deserve to call her anything at all
