Sometimes you wish that 
one person would just come back 
so you'll stop crying.

You Hero You

When people see you as weak

do you get annoyed

or do you feel overjoyed

by the fact that they're wrong

that they've always been wrong

you chose to be your own hero 

and that really hurts their ego 

because you don't need them 

everything they say is a lie

so no matter how hard they try

you really won't need them 

they promised you everything

without giving you any ring

but even if they gave you a ring

that still wouldn't mean anything

when you're still weak to them 

so every time you speak to them

let them know

you chose to be your own hero

because after what you've been through

what could they possibly do for you

that you couldn't do for yourself

nothing 

absolutely nothing

Who To Be

I put a smile on people's faces 
and I make people laugh 
I've been told that's priceless 
so I'm fulfilling my purpose 
but what I wasn't told 
was how that would effect me
how those people would view me
because now when they look at me
they wonder why I'm so serious
why so serious 
the reason is very simple 
because nobody takes me seriously 
they say they do
but how can they really 
when I'm seen as the joker
and I know it's not everyone
but there are a few 
those who want to be fair to me
or don't want to hurt my feelings 
I'm not sure where that leaves me 
so should I be less funny 
or should I be more serious 
maybe I'll just keep being myself 
and hope one day that'll be enough

Sometimes you play the cards they hand you
even when you know they can't stand you
they want to see just how much you can take
so they'll do anything to expose you as fake
because to them you pose a threat 
even when you haven't done anything yet
once you realize what you can really do
there's nothing you won't go through 
it's how you'll beat them
and how you'll unseat them
but you won't need their throne
not when you'll have your own
that was the real reason for your loyalty
so you yourself could be royalty 
and even though you didn't start it
thank them for making you a target 
good thing you didn't let how you felt 
change the hand you were dealt 
because everything will be all right 
if you play your cards right

She knows
of course she knows 
you only do it every night 
but she doesn't mind
she doesn't mind it at all
in fact she loves it
you're lost in her beauty
enamored by her essence
who wouldn't love that
she can feel your eyes on her
the energy from your smile
what an intoxicating feeling
she's waited so long for this
and so have you 
that's why you stare at her
but she doesn't mind 
she's doesn't mind it at all 
because she knows 
you both know 
what an intoxicating feeling 
she will protect her king
much like the game of Chess 
but you must watch over her
and she knows that

with everything you were willing to endure
it's no wonder you made it this far

you didn't forget that you could swim
so you're definitely not like them 
all those times you went under
sure it made people wonder
but when you finally came up for air 
that's when everyone became aware
you weren't going to give up without a fight
and you still believed in shining bright
it's no wonder you made it this far

remember it was that second guessing 
that led to all that stressing 
you couldn't avoid a relapse if you tried
especially after your brother died 
but somehow 
you're here right now
it took everything for you to stay afloat
